I am a fiber artist who enjoys process. Spinning, weaving, and dyeing using only natural dyes, I find it very important to buy fiber from local farmers and help raise awareness about where our clothing comes from. At market you can find quality handwoven tea towels, hand dyed market bags, natural dye plants, and much more.
As a native of WNC, I grew up in an amazingly beautiful environment. I began hiking and exploring these mountains and developed a love for photography which gave me a medium to share the beauty that I discovered. I completely source my business through other local businesses. I use a local photo lab for my printing and do my own mattes and backing, which I buy from Frugal Framer. I try to do everything I can with local businesses, and thanks for supporting my local business.
John's Berry Patch

I also have many other vegetables and vend at various markets. In addition to vegetables, I raise free range chickens and sell their eggs.

Started in 2014, Rooted Earth Farm specializes in producing a wide array of vegetables, perennials, herbs, flowers and plant starts. We sell eggs, and with growth of their flock, plan on selling humanely raised lamb in the near future. Our farming practices include growing our products organically, using crop rotation, testing our soil annually, carefully planning for pest management, and maintaining a beneficial habitat for pollinators. We also have a greenhouse with Smithmill Works in Asheville, where we intend to expand the production of cool and warm weather crops in years to come.
